Common Questions

Below you will find our most frequently asked questions about our orientation process and other general information. If you have additional questions, feel free to Contact Us here. We’re open 24/7/365 so you can reach us anytime!

I love what I see, can I come in and check the place out?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to stop by anytime and take a tour around. The best times to come in are mid morning and mid afternoon but again, you’re welcome to come by anytime.

Can I bring my four legged friend with me to check it out?

Kind of! If you’re just dropping by, we can’t allow your dog to come with because we won’t have your dog’s immunization record and file ready to go. But if you’ve scheduled an orientation, your dog definitely needs to come along for that!

What is this free orientation you speak of?

We offer free, no commitment orientations for all customers. For Orientation Information please download our Orientation PDF.

An orientation is what we require before a dog can stay for boarding or daycare. We do them by appointment only but don’t worry, we offer them seven days a week all throughout the day. We just want to make sure we have everything ready for you when you arrive. The process usually takes around 30 minutes (can vary depending on your dog’s comfort level with other dogs). Your dog will get a chance to socialize with our four legged friends while you meet with a manager so we can get some details about you and your dog. We want to make sure we know all we can to make your dog’s stay with us as happy as possible.

How do I set up an orientation?

To set up your free orientation, just give us a call at (314) 291-3647 and we’ll be glad to get one scheduled with you. When you call, we’ll ask for some basic contact info for you and also about your dog. We also will ask for your veterinary information so we can call to get updated vaccines records and health information for your dog.

What are the requirements for a dog to stay at Happy Tails for daycare or boarding?

Every dog has to pass through an orientation. We require all dogs over six months of age to be spayed or neutered. We also require all dogs to be current on their rabies, DHLPP and bordetella vaccines. All requirements are to ensure that everyone is safe and well taken care of while at Happy Tails.

How about if I’m just coming for grooming?

If you’re only coming for grooming with no daycare or boarding involved, we need to have a current immunization record on file for your dog. Just give us a call to set up your appointment and we’ll get all the information we need to make sure you’re good to go.

I have a few other questions that I don’t see here, help!!

That’s one of the many reasons we love being open 24/7/365. You can reach us at anytime – give us a call at (314) 291-3647, send us an email, reach out on Facebook or Twitter and any other way you can think of and we’ll be happy to help get your questions answered.
